Research shows that children learn essential life skills and traits (social/emotional skills, sharing, etc) through playing. These skills are, of course, important for kindergarten readiness and future success in school and life.

The Calabasas Klubhouse is a play-based, child-centered  preschool, where children participate in activities based on their interests. Play-based preschool programs like ours, allow children to have open-ended play opportunities. Children get to choose what to do throughout center time, based on their interests, rather than following a set agenda. Our teachers set up their classrooms to support this type of learning, ensuring access to different centers (art, dramatic play, blocks, manipulatives, sensory exploration, etc.) which draw in and engage the children.

Academics are incorporated into our Pre-K classroom in an effort to assist children in being prepared for elementary school. We teach children proper letter formation by using the Handwriting Without Tears program. Children in our Pre-K still have many opportunities to learn through play, even with their fun writing activities.

Our school follows the same theme but each classroom uses the theme to plan age appropriate activities and curriculum.

Families can see each of their classrooms curriculum calendars within our schools Pro-Care Parent Engagement App.
