Frequently Asked Questions (updated January 2022)
Do the children need to wear face coverings?
- Yes, children over 24 months are required by local agencies to wear face coverings while at school (other than when they are eating, drinking or napping). As of July 2021, children are permitted to remove their face coverings when outdoors. During certain spikes, the LADPH might require face coverings to be required to be worn outdoors.
What things will be happening for children's birthdays during the pandemic?
- Families will be permitted to bring in a store/bakery purchased item to share with their classmates.
Will the school use hand sanitizer gel or wipes instead of frequent hand washing?
- No. The CDC recommends washing hands with soap for at least 20 seconds. Washing your hands is easy, and it’s one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Hand sanitizer can be used when washing hands with soap and water isn’t available.
Will teachers be tested for COVID-19?
- In certain circumstances, yes, our teachers will be tested.
- Teachers will be screened each day upon arrival and will have their temperature checked and logged. Staff are expected to follow the state and county regulations.
Are teachers required to be vaccinated against COVID-19?
- Teachers are made aware of the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine and at this time the State of California has not made it a mandatory vaccine to work in a child care setting. In order to be indoors at our facility, staff must be fully vaccinated or be tested for COVID-19 per the following requirement set by the City of Calabasas.

Will the Calabasas Klubhouse Preschool close again?
- This is something that we can not foresee, but if there is a need, the school will temporarily close again. A number of factors could lead to this happening and we will be doing everything that we can to ensure a safe and clean environment for all of our staff and children.
Will the Calabasas Klubhouse Preschool need to shut down certain classrooms?
- In the event of a COVID-19 close contact or positive case, certain classrooms might be required to close for a short period of time. The length of time of closure will be determined by the LACDPH Early Education sector, which we are required to follow.
